Janie was born in Abilene, Texas and at the age of 11, she was adopted by Cecil and Bessie Cunningham, who welcomed her into their family and raised her with love.
Janie married the love of her life on March 19, 1977. Throughout their years together, they built a life centered around family, love, and countless memories with their children and grandchildren.
Janie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, William Wayne Mauldin; her daughters, Marcy Jan Srulowitz and husband Michael, and Samantha Jo Davidson and husband Dustin; and her four grandchildren, Chloe and Saylor Davidson and Hunter and Harper Srulowitz.
Known lovingly as "Nanie" to her grandchildren, Nanie's life was defined by the family she loved and the many years she shared with them. Her memory will live on through her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
Open visitation for Janie will be held from 8 AM - 6 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Johnson's Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mertzon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Mauldin Family asks that memorial donations in Janie's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Janie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
