Jerry Pat was born September 16, 1959 to Pat and Joyce Herriage in Odessa, Texas. He was a 1978 graduate of Levelland High School where he enjoyed playing football and being a big brother. Jerry Pat attended college at South Plains for 2 years then went to work in the oilfield. He worked very hard to provide for his family and was respected by his co-workers. Everyone that he worked with knew he was a man of few words so when he spoke they knew it was important. Jerry Pat finished out his oilfield career working for Cagle Fishing Tools and Rentals. About halfway through his 30 years there Jerry met Johnny Goodloe. A great friendship bonded the two together. He loved and looked at Johnny as a son until his last days.
He was a proud father to two daughters Mandy and Amber and enjoyed being a proud grandfather to his 3 grand-sons and 2 grand-daughters. One thing he wished he had made more time for was getting to spend time with all his grandchildren. Jerry Pat enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Hubbard in Brekenridge, Texas with his family. He was a die heart Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech fan. He was a proud resident of Big Lake and for the past 2 years he lived with his daughter Amber and grandson Troy and enjoyed getting to watch Troy play baseball.
Jerry Pat will be greeted in Heaven by his parents and his Uncle Gene Herriage. He is survived by his little brother Mark Herriage and wife Debbie of Morton; daughter Mandy Mimms, grandsons Ethan and Lawson and granddaughters Faith and McKenna of Lubbock and his daughter Amber Long and husband Cody, grandson Troy Smith and granddaughter Cara Long of Big Lake.
