

Jerry Lee Mitchell, 65, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, in San Angelo. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Suitors officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Jerry was born Nov. 3, 1948, in San Angelo, Texas to Willie and Louise Gentry Mitchell. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. Jerry had a janitorial service all of his life. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. Jerry loved listening to blues music, collecting vintage cars and fishing. He also had a passion and fondness for beautiful ladies. He loved life and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Louise; and his brothers, Steve and Roger Mitchell. He is survived by his loving children, Dorothy Mitchell, Jerry Lee Malone Mitchell and his wife, Sylvia, Charles Mitchell, Billie Fleeks, Patrick Mitchell, all of San Angelo and Angela Phillips, of Midland and Kienandra Williams of Odessa; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Darnell Mitchell of San Angelo, Herbert Mitchell of San Angelo, Jimmy Mitchell of Dallas, Carl Mitchell of San Angelo and Clifton Mitchell of San Angelo; his sister, Anna Mae Mitchell of Dallas; special aunt Osie Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and close friends.
