John Edward House passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in San Angelo, Texas. John was born to Allen & Irene House on June 23, 1936 in Lauratown, Arkansas. John was a proud Air Force Vietnam veteran and holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross awarded for his service there. He served his country at numerous overseas and stateside assignments for 28 1/2 years, retiring at Goodfellow AFB San Angelo, Texas in 1984. One of his proudest moments was being retired by the USAF Thunderbirds flying team. He then continued to serve his country as a Civil Servant at Goodfellow AFB another 20 years. He married Kathleen McIntyre on December 26, 1957 in Larne, Northern Ireland. They recently celebrated 60 years together, 19 1/2 of that traveling the world as military family. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; sons, Robert and wife Traci, Shaun and wife Mary, and his pride and joy, grandchildren, Alyssa, Anna, John and Jack. He is also survived by his brothers, Roy and wife Donna, Jackie and wife Mary; sister, Alice and husband Paul, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and four sisters. Honorary pallbearers are longtime friends Larry Czubinski, JT Allen, John French, Dennis Trujillo, JJ Graham & Ed O'Neill. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm April 2, 2018 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be at 10 am April 3, 2018 in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, with a catered reception to follow at Johnson's Funeral Home.
