My dearest Senatore/Strickland family,

I am so sorry for the loss of John.

John was my beloved surrogate big brother. He watched over me as I grew up and well into my early adult years. I never doubted his care for me. If I needed him, he was there.

I was blessed to be welcomed into your family at so young an age, and to still be a part of it now.

When I became engaged, he gave his approval (whew!) and, just like that, Garry became family too.

His bigger than life personality will be missed.

May all who love him find peace that he is now safely home with his King.

Our love,

Patti and Garry
