Johnny Dale Adcock went to be with the lord on September 24, 2013. Johnny was born to Bunky & Donna Adcock on November 20, 1956 in Spur, Texas. Johnny was a truck driver for Service Transport in Corpus Christi, Tx before moving to San Angelo. After serving the city of San Angelo for 20 years, he retired and returned to his passion of truck driving as he did some work for his son. He also used his free time to help others.

He was preceded in death by his father J.O. “Bunky” Adcock, his mother Donna Strain Adcock, and his sister Teressa Adcock. He is survived by son Jason Adcock and Mandy Villarreal of San Angelo, son Johnny Adcock of Corpus Christi, sister Margaret Adcock Cusack and Bill Cusack of Corpus Christi, and sister Brenda Adcock Green and Jimmy Green of Houston, Texas. Also grandchildren, Emily and Mallory Govea, Daniela and Jason Jr. Adcock of San Angelo, and Devon Cole of Abilene, Texas.

The family would like to thank special friends from White’s Mechanic Shop, Jim Thorp, Ronnie McEnery, and Roger Irvin as well as special thanks to Hospice of San Angelo, Molly Riley, Cindy Baca, and Jennifer Price. After a short bout with brain cancer, Johnny was surrounded by family as he passed in the home of his son. Johnny loved the Lord, and had been attending the Cowboy Church which he looked forward to every Sunday. According to family he was “A jack of all trades” and “master of none” according to him. He was always helping someone and had a heart bigger than his cowboy boots. We are thankful for the time we had with him, the memories, the laughter, and the love. Johnny is in a better place now; no more pain, suffering or discomfort. While he is no longer with us, his legacy of love will live on, and for that we are grateful.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, September 30, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Grape Creek Cemetery.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
