Kenneth Lee Harrington

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 26th in Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Tommy King officiating. Burial with, Military Honors, will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth was born November 3, 1938 in Spanish Fort, Texas to A.O. and Maureen (Myers) Harrington.

Kenneth served in the US Airforce for 4 years and the US Navy for 21 years and was retired after 25+ years as a Master Chief/ Master at Arms. He was a resident of San Angelo for 42 years and served on the San Angelo Police department for 17 years with the last 4 years as the Chief of Police. He was a volunteer with the US Forest Service in Colorado and a Deacon at Johnson Street Church of Christ.

Kenneth was married to Frauke Avenarius for 51 years on December 26, in Gainesville, Texas.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents A.O. and Maureen and two brothers Bobby Jack and Terry Don Harrington.

Survivors include his wife Frauke Avenarius Harrington of San Angelo; daughter Sabina Lee Harrington of Arlington, TX; son Michael Lee Harrington and wife Gina and their children Erica and Eryn all of Venus, TX; daughter Teresa Lee Harrington and fiancé Rafael Rivera of Grapevine, TX; son Bryan Lee Harrington and wife Kristi of Kwajalein, M.I. (Marshall Islands); two brothers Billy Joe Harrington and wife LaVerne of Iowa Park, TX and Jerry Lynn Harrington and sisters-in-law Elke White of Kempner, TX, and Ute Koellner and husband Alfed of Germany and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Gay, Geral Sorrells, Mark Davis, G.W. Walker, David Gonzales, and Ed Dixon.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Johnson Street Church of Christ Building Fund or American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
