

Larry was born June 12, 1951 in Abilene, Texas to Charlie and Betty Jean (Stevens) Mitcham, growing up in the Jim Ned Valley area. He graduated from Jim Ned High School in Tuscola in 1970. While in school, he was football hero in 65-66, class favorite his sophomore year, Who's Who and in 69-70 was football hero, all-district,all-area and all-state.
Larry was well liked by many, possessing a ready smile, an affable disposition and a ready wit which brought smiles to many faces. He was well respected, being a paragon of good manners himself. He will be greatly missed by a lot of folks.
Visitation will be heldon Friday, March 9,2012at Johnson's Funeral Homefrom 6 to 8 pmfor family and friends.
Visitation will be held in Tuscola at Fry-Bartlett Funeral Homefrom 10 to 11AM on Saturday the 10thwith a graveside service to followat 11:30at the Tuscola Cemetery officiated by Rev Jack Stevens of Clyde.
Prior to moving to San Angelo he lived in Sterling City for 18 years.
Larry was currently employed with Walmart for over 10 years. Some of his favorite times were spent playing bingo and dominoes with his friends, co-workers and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty and his sister, Sandra Tennison and a very special friend, Paula Radde.
Larry is survived and deeply loved by his son, Patrick Mitcham and wife, Brittany and their son, Jacob of San Angelo, son, Larry Mitcham II and son, Tristan of Lubbock; aunts, Margie Ladner and husband, Don of Ovalo, Joy Booth and husband, Clyde of Lawn and Sue Vaughn of Abilene; uncle Jack Stevens and wife, Linda of Clyde along with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and co-workers.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetics Association or charity of choice
