Leonard Gober passed away at his home on Friday August 12, 2011. He was born on June 20, 1914, to Walter and Molly Gober in the Holt community in San Saba County. He married Mora Pool on January 15, 1938 and they celebrated 73 years of marriage. During his life he was a small business owner and was involved in farming and ranching in San Saba and Concho Counties. To those who knew him, he was a man of honesty and integrity.
Leonard was a member of Life Point Baptist and had served several churches as a teacher, Deacon, and church builder. His faith in Christ started as a young man and that faith gave him the strength to be an overcomer in this life. His strength was an encouragement to many who saw him live out his faith.
Graveside services will be held at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 10 A.M on Monday, August 15, 2011 with Bill Butts officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Leonard was preceded in death by his son Leonard Dale Gober. He is survived by his loving wife Mora, son Wylie Gober, wife Billie, his sister Mabel Arnold, five grandsons, Dwain Gober and wife Susan, Greg Gober and wife Karen, Coy Gober and wife Christye, Cole Gober, Coty Gober and nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Meals to the Elderly or the charity of your choice.
