

Linda Sue Smith Hunt, 58, of San Angelo, Texas, was surrounded by family when she was called Home by her Heavenly Father, on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 after battling cancer for over a year. Linda was also affectionately known by her grandchildren as “Noni”.
Linda was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 6th, 1953 and graduated from Lubbock Christian High School in 1972. She became a LVN and worked for a number of years at Lubbock’s Methodist Hospital before moving to Odessa. She was a Justice of the Peace secretary for Judge R. G. Hungerford in Ector County until 1992. She has since been a wonderful stay-at-home mother, loving wife, and humble Christian servant to everyone around her. She married John W. “Skipper” Hunt on October 21st, 1988. Linda was gifted with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Her love for God and his creation was evident in her passion for World Bible School and her mission work. She touched many lives throughout the world in Thailand, India, New Zealand, and Kenya. Linda also loved to send cards to others for all occasions. This spiritual gift touched and blessed many lives.
After Linda was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2011, she was an inspiration to others to live healthier lifestyles in an effort to avoid all types of illnesses. She will be greatly missed.
A visitation is planned from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7th, 2012 at Johnson’s Funeral home in San Angelo, Texas. The celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at Golf Course Road Church of Christ, in Midland, Texas with Minister Tod Brown officiating. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas.
Linda was proceeded in death by her mom, Marjorie Marie Stone Smith, her dad, Frank Boyd Smith and her brother, Terry Neal Smith all of Lubbock, Texas.
Linda is survived by her husband of 23 years, John Wayne “Skipper” Hunt; three daughters, Jalain Bagley and husband Travis of Midland, TX, Laura Macias and husband Sean of Oklahoma City, OK and Haley Hunt of College Station, TX; two sons Robert Hunt of Midland and Wesley Hunt and daughter in law Marissa of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Kylee and Chandler Bagley, Bailey, Callie and Caleb Macias, Claire Hunt and expected baby girl Hunt who were the loves of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Mauldin and husband Jim of New Zealand and sister-in-law Kim Smith of Little Elm, TX.
Suggested donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Linda’s memory to the “Made in the Streets” ministry at 409 Franklin Road in Brentwood, TN 37027. “Made in the Streets” is a program in Kenya that recues kids from the streets of Nairobi. Other donations may be directed to Nile Peaytt in Nashville, TN. Nile Peaytt has a ministry that helps young children with childhood cancer. For more information, contact Nile at 615-944-0499. These ministries were very important to Linda and she actively participated in them whenever possible.
