Lou Starr was born in Eola, Texas, on Aug. 31, 1930, to Ivey And Ida Mae Young. She attended schools in San Angelo. She was married to J.E. Gibbs in 1946. After his death in 1971, she married Roy Starr in 1972, who preceded her in death. Lou was a truck driver for several years, and was an appliance salesperson for Old West Texas Utilities until she was disabled. She had been an avid bowler and loved fishing, hunting and traveling. Many happy hours were spent on the lovely property she and Roy owned on Spring Creek. Lou then turned back to her love of painting and became a member of the San Angelo Art Club. Many of her paintings are hanging in different areas in Texas. She is survived by her beloved son, John Gibbs Jr. and wife Donna; also five grandsons, Johnny Gibbs III and wife Elaine, Glen Gibbs and wife Robbie, Stephen Gibbs, Tony Roy Lynn Gibbs, Bryan Scott Gibbs; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She leaves two very special friends, Elizabeth and Elaine Gibbs and her beloved Co-Co. She sincerely believed... that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whomsoever believed upon His name would not perish, but have everlasting life.
