One of the best memories of my great grandfather is him always saying, “I declare” in that deep voice he had. Also getting my cousin to eat one of those peppers off his plant in the front yard.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Prayers for our family as we prepare for the Homecoming of "Granddad"

My fondest memory was traveling to see granddaddy and he had the biggest feast waiting for us when we got there, the big sound of his laughter, gorgeous smile, his tall statue and the way he welcomed everyone he met. He truly commanded the room and led by example as he was a believer in God.
