Malinda Caldwell Lusby, 101, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Park Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Austin, Texas. Malinda was born October 20, 1919 in Normal, Illinois to Ed Caldwell and Dee Lenora Mosley Webster. She lived the majority of her life in Saint Louis, Missouri. She married Theodore Lusby of Jackson, Tennessee; to that union was born two sons, Jerome Lusby and Theodore Lusby, Jr., both preceded her in death. Malinda was employed at Fox Photographic Studios for over 30 years; she retired in January 1983. After retiring, she moved to San Angelo, Texas and later to Austin, Texas. She was the younger sister of Irene Caldwell (deceased) and half-sister Ester Williams (deceased), of Jackson, Tennessee.
Malinda is survived by two granddaughters, Vanessa and Victoria Lusby; daughter-in-law, Celeste Stanton; extended family Sam and Linda Modkins, Erma Brooks, and her daughter, Tonia Bellamy; and a host of friends and loved ones. Malinda will sorely be missed. A woman of faith, she died as she lived…”quietly”, with that mesmerizing smile on her face. She heard God’s voice and answered the call. Malinda is now resting comfortably in Jesus’ arms.
