

Margaret Shaw Busby, 99 of San Angelo, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at a local care center. She was born on August 7, 1913 in Waco, Texas to William Delbert and Mary Landis Cox Shaw.
A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Kingsland, Texas. There will be a Family Visitation at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo, Texas.
Margaret cherished her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. They were the most precious to her. Along with being a dedicated homemaker, she also served many years as President of the Women’s Division of the Texas Association of Tobacco and Candy Distributors. After her husband L.W. retired from Ponca Wholesale and Mercantile Company, they retired to their home in the Texas Hill Country. In 2001, she moved to San Angelo to be closer to family where she resided until her death.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leonard Wade Busby, parents William and Mary Shaw, son in-law Maurice Charles Kernion, brothers D.W. Shaw, Jr., and Russell Shaw, and infant twin daughters Nancy and Patti Busby. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Busby Kernion of San Angelo; granddaughter Amy Kernion Latham and husband Todd of San Angelo; grandson Charles Allen Kernion and wife Traci of Coppell, TX; great-grandchildren: Paul Johnson of Austin, TX, Nathan Kernion and Summer Kernion, both of New Braunfels, TX, Abby Kernion of Coppell, TX, and Jesse Latham and Alley Latham, both of Austin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
