Marie (Manuela) Galan Barnes, 87, peacefully passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2022 at her daughter Loretta Waldrop's home in Beckville, Texas. Marie was born July 2, 1935 to Antonio and Lina Galan in Christoval, Texas. She met and married Thomas M. Bailey on July 27, 1951 at the First Baptist Church of Christoval.
Marie worked for many companies in her long business career in administration management retiring to Christoval Texas 2004. She was active in the Christoval community serving on the Water Board, Chamber of Commerce and managed the Christoval Playland Park and properties.
Marie was an avid reader and even more avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Marie cherished her family and cooking for family gatherings.
Marie was preceded in death by Jerry Barnes, her husband of 35 years. Marie is survived by her four daughters: Judy Stephens, Loretta Waldrop, Robyn Luedtke, Suzanne Ledbetter; 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, plus numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Johnson's Funeral Home on Sunday October 23, 2022, from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Monday, October 24, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Beaver officiating.
