Marsha Snow Blackshear, of San Angelo, Texas; graduating class of 1965, Central High School; a dedicated nurse, world traveler, and beloved "Nana," passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 78. Marsha leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, remarkable tenacity, and a profound love for her family and friends.
Marsha’s calling was service to others. After attending St. John’s Nursing School to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse, she spent her 25-year nursing career at Shannon Clinic. She worked with Dr. Charles Caldwell, whom she deeply respected, and provided compassionate care to many orthopedic patients.
While her family roots were in San Angelo, Marsha’s spirit was global. Alongside her devoted husband, Bobby Blackshear of 60 years, she traveled across Great Britain, Ireland, and numerous countries throughout Europe. Closer to home, they embraced the "work-camping" lifestyle, traveling the United States in their RV. Their hearts always led them back to the Molalla River Corridor in Oregon. There, they worked alongside the BLM and park rangers, dedicated to protecting the area’s natural beauty for future generations.
To her family, Marsha was a steady, gentle heart. As "Nana," she was the light of her grandchildren’s lives. She was a master of the game "Imagination," where she encouraged her grandchildren to think creatively, learn through play, and understand that life is meant for living. Her tireless love, laughter, and love for play, music and dancing, remain the greatest gifts she left behind to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Blackshear; her sister, Gay Honebrink (husband David); her daughters, Amy Sewell and Chrissy Gregg (husband Darin); and her cherished grandchildren, Amanda Sewell (husband Colin), Ian and Logan Gregg; nieces and nephews, Steven (wife Nicole) and Shawn Snow, Matthew Treadwell and Sarah Gadsby (husband Tavian); great nieces Avery Snow and Aaliyah Gadsby; sister- in-law Ann Snow (wife of Ron Snow); and granddogs (Pelusa and Murphy) and other beloved cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ater Snow and Cathryn Berry Snow of San Angelo; her brother, Lloyd Ronald Snow of Little Rock, Arkansas; and her nephew, Joshua David Honebrink of Webster, NY.
We would like to say thank you to Concho Hearts Hospice Nurses and Staff, The Springs Memory Care Community Nurses and Staff, and Marsha’s friends. Their love, support, and care during this time was unwavering.
Please join the family to honor Marsha on June 20, 2026 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, San Angelo, Texas. A light lunch will be served.
