

Mary Amelia Coker, 102, passed away in Texarkana on Thursday, March 23, 2017. She was born to the late, Samuel Alexander and Lelia Black Hutcheson on Saturday, January 16, 1915 in Ballinger, Texas. In 1941, she married Frank Claud Coker in Phoenix City, Alabama. Mary was a longtime resident of San Angelo and a member of the First Christian Church as well as the Order of the Eastern Star and Rowena’s VFW Ladies Auxiliary. One of her greatest joys was bowling. Mary will be forever remembered as a wonderful lady with a love for life. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1991; and brothers, Ray and Edgar Hutcheson.
Survivors include her sister, Faye Sanders; nephew, Bob Hutcheson and his wife, Jan; nephew, Fred Sanders; numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to graveside services at 3:00 PM in the Paint Rock Cemetery. Dr. James Miller will officiate. Memorials may be made in her honor to the West Texas Boys Club, one of her favorite places to donate to throughout her lifetime.
