She was born on Tuesday October 21, 1958 in Colorado City, TX to Jesus Campos Sanchez and Janie Cardenas.
Mary Jane obtained her High School diploma through Job Corps in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She later obtained her medical transcriptionist certificate through American Commercial College in San Angelo, TX. Mary Jane found joy the last few years of her life working with the students and staff at Fannin Elementary School in San Angelo as a teacher’s aide.
She was a proud member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and had a passion for arts & crafts and will always be remembered for her phenomenal skills in the kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Campos Sanchez and stepfather, Ismael Cardenas whom she loved dearly.
Mary Jane is survived by her mother, Janie Cardenas of San Angelo; her son, Gabriel and Kimberly Gallegos of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Gracie & Robert Gonzales of San Angelo, TX, and Valerie Faz of San Angelo, TX. Later in life she began raising her 2 nephews and niece whom she loved as her own children, Robert Garcia, Jaime Caldera, and Bella Donna Garcia. She was also survived by three brothers, Jessie Sanchez of Abilene, TX; Julian and Ann Sanchez of San Angelo, TX, and Richard Sanchez of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Sharon and Mark Rauscher of San Angelo, TX, and Virginia Cardenas of San Angelo, TX.
Mary Jane was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and during football season could always be found watching her boys. The greatest joy of her life was her grandchildren; Alexandra Gallegos, Krystal Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales, Julia Gallegos, Xavier Gonzales, Eden Gonzales Gallegos, and Bella Rodriguez. She had numerous nieces and nephews who also held a piece of her heart.
The Rosary will be prayed Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 7pm in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel and the funeral services will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
