Mary Ann Deans Hale passed away on April 16, 2021. Services will be held Thursday, April 22 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM with burial following at 2 PM in Voca Memorial Cemetery in Voca, TX. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home. Mary Ann was born to Reef Deans and Edna Fleming Deans on December 1, 1934 in Brady, TX. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1953. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Frank Hale, November 14, 1955. Frank preceded her in death May 26, 2010. She and Frank shared 54 wonderful years at the time of his death. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Bodeker and husband Dick Bodeker of Lufkin, TX; her son David Ray Hale and wife Laura Hale of Plano, TX; four dearly loved grandchildren Cody Bodeker of Lufkin, TX; Dr. Travis Bodeker and wife Erin of Kingwood, TX; Taylor Seville and husband Kevin of Prosper, TX; Brooke Adams and husband Leelan of Garland, TX; great-grandchildren Alena and Noah Bodeker; Emerson Seville; Dustie Adams; brother Ray Deans and wife Sandra; brothers-in-law Jerry Hale and wife JoAnn; David B. Hale and wife Julie, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary loved and studied the word of God. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family deeply and her family adored her. She was an example of the woman in Proverbs 31: 10-31, “A wife of Noble Character”. Mary lived her life in service to The Lord and was a strong example of a Christian woman for her family. She lived her life for her husband and family and we will forever be grateful, we will carry her in our hearts always. She was a member of the 9th and Main Church of Christ.
