Louteen Knoche, 91, of Ballinger, passed away at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, September 16, 2018. She was born to the late, Bert, Sr. and Mollie Ross Cornelius on September 24, 1926 in Bronte, Texas. She worked as Office Manager with Del-Tex for 28 years and GTE as Administrative Clerk for 10 years. Louteen was a longtime member of the Johnson’s Street Church of Christ. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed countless hours watching her grandson play sports of all kinds. She enjoyed dancing and traveling. Louteen was a fighter, even up until the last moments of her life. Her strong will and independent streak will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents (listed above); great grandson, Chance Sallee; and siblings, J.R. Cornelius, Bernice Stone, Douglas Cornelius, and Raymond Cornelius.
Survivors include her son, Wesley Smith and his wife, Cynthia; daughter, Tina Knoche; grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Rhonda, Colby, Jennifer and David, and Jessica and Jay; seven great grandchildren, Chrystian, Bryce, Kayla, Kai, Gage, Ian, and Elliot; siblings, Bert Cornelius, Jr., and Naomi James; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Hospice of San Angelo, especially Ian, and to Ronnie and Lynn King for the care given to Louteen.
There will be a time of visitation held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 in Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the Johnson’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
