She is survived by her daughters, Amy Winemiller of Carthage, Missouri, Patti Banda of San Angelo, Carolyn Allen of San Angelo. Her sons Chris Mullen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mark Mullen of Carrolton, Texas, and Todd Mullen of San Angelo. Twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She retired from Ethicon in 1991 where she worked for 25 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished her family above all things.
She passed away at home surrounded by her family after battling a sudden illness. She was strong and energetic and loved working in the yard, weekly coffee dates with her friends, and traveling to as many places as possible displaying a large map on the wall in her home with pins to mark all the places across the country she visited. Born prematurely in Winooski, Vermont in 1936, she was not expected to survive as she defied the odds with the resiliency and strength she carried throughout her long life, including two bouts with cancer. Incredibly nostalgic and sentimental by saving every greeting, birthday, mother’s day card; letters, children's artwork, report cards, newspaper clippings, mementos, gifts, and hundreds of pictures of her friends and family.
Her life was full of challenges from the first day to her last. She never wavered and faced every challenge with love, tenacity, and determination serving as a model for her children and grandchildren to follow. But in the end, she was just too tired and time caught up with her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, joy, and peace as her family carries the memory of a life well lived. She was a blessing and will be sorely missed.
She will be laid to rest at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with a small gathering of her family. Memorial service will be 5:00 pm, Saturday April 16, 2022, at the Bearded Barista Coffee Shop located at 2412 College Hills Blvd. Officiated by Todd Mullen of Open Table Fellowship Church.
