Bull started school in Big Spring,Texas. The family moved to the San Angelo area in 1968. He attended Goliad and Grape Creek schools, where in 1979 he graduated from Water Valley High School. He went to work for (GTE) Verizon, Inc in 1981. He was a dedicated and faithful employee for 32 years until his sudden death.

Mike was instrumental in organizing the American Boer Goat Association in 1993. He and his father-in-law brought the first Boer Goats from South Africa to the United States. Being active in all phases of the organization, he served two terms as a Director of the American Boer Goat Association; served as President twice, and on numerous committees, including the ABGA national show, national site, and youth committees. He was a dedicated supporter of the Junior American Boer Goat Association, working as a superintendent for countless national shows, and sanctioned national shows. Mike was to serve as one of four for the 2013 show superintendents of the ABGA. He was influential in moving the ABGA office to San Angelo.

Having a servant’s heart, Mike was always eager to assist in any outdoor cooking event to benefit others.

Regardless of the occasion whether it be working goats, chopping wood, or barbequing, he always seemed to show up wearing his (Sunday Best), white shirt, starched jeans, boots with spurs a jingling. He was known as a perfectionist not only in his dress, but in all walks of his life.

The delight of Mike’s life was his precious daughter, Mylie (Bug). She was his constant companion, along with his dog Cooter. He took her everywhere; she was his everything.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine for their outstanding love and care they bestowed on Mike during his short stay.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Boer Goat Association, 1207 South Abe Street, Suite C, San Angelo, Texas 76903, or to a trust fund which has been set up for his daughter, Mylie Masters, at Qualtrust Federal Credit Union, 2601 Loop 306, San Angelo, Texas 76904.

Mike and I met when I was a contractor for Verizon. Because we often worked late, me loading trucks for the next days delivery, Mike finishing up paperwork, waiting for a carrier to pick up the last bit of freight of the day, we occasionally had the opportunity to chat. Mike loved his precious daughter, he showed me pictures more time than I can remember.

Mike had another love. This love was for Jesus Christ, the One that made the way for us to have eternal life in Heaven with Him. Some of you may know Mike's story better than me. But this is what I remember him telling me. Mike was not afraid of very much, not goats nor bulls not even ostrich, which he hated. However, he told me he was petrified of making the decision to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. But he did make that decision and because of that decision he is now in Heaven with his Lord and Savior.

My thoughts and prayers are for the family Mike left behind. Mike(Bull)Masters is in a much better place now.
