Mildred H. Hohmann, 85, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2013, in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M, Monday, April 29, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kurt Fangmeier officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Mildred was born on July 21, 1927 in San Angelo, Texas. She grew up in San Angelo and after graduating from San Angelo High School went on to nurses training school at Shannon Medical Center. After the birth of her three children, Mildred attended San Angelo College receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She later received her Master’s Degree in Education from Angelo State University. Mildred taught English at Lincoln Junior High School until the date of her retirement. She had many passions in life and enjoyed being a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol, a member of the San Angelo Garden Club, TSTA, AAUW, served as a Democratic Chair in Tom Green County, a member of the San Angelo Newtimers Club, a sponsor for Tri Hi Y, one of the original founding sponsors of the Hoolihan, a member of the Terps Dance Club, and a teacher at the Arthur Murray School of Dance. Mildred traveled extensively throughout Europe and especially loved to go on the sponsored ASU trips. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ethel Evans, the father of her children, Wallace H. Hohmann and one brother Marvin Hawkins. She is survived by three children Paula Hohmann Gillespie of Oklahoma City, OK, Wallace Henry “Wally” Hohmann Jr. and wife Karla of San Angelo, TX; Diane Hohmann Burnett and husband Bart of San Angelo, TX; Five Grandchildren, Abbey, Shelby, and Jillian Gillespie, Crystin Hohmann Darby and husband Derek, Wallace Henry “Trey” Hohmann III; and two Great Grandchildren, Davis and Mary Cathryn Darby.The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Amy Jackson, Ivy Fitchett, Freddie Jackson and all of the nurses with Hospice of San Angelo who took such wonderful care of Mildred. Donations may be made to the American Cancer society or a favorite charity.

Millie was a true advocate for what she believed. I got the opportunity to know Millie when she came to the Senior Center and always-enjoyed sitting down and visiting with her. Prayers are with her family during ths time. LaRonda Trammel
