

Nellie Hinojos Tarin, A long time resident of San Angelo, went home to be with the lord on Friday, July 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 17, 1934 in San Angelo preceded by her parent's Frank and Jesusita Serrano-Hinojos Sr. Within the last seven months she fought a hard and courageous battle with cancer, but it never kept her away from her family. She was a devoted and dedicated wife to her husband, Cayetano Tarin Sr. They were happily married for 64 years and had eight children together. Nellie enjoyed spontaneous trips to the Casino in Hobbs, New Mexico. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her daily morning routine consisted of sipping on her coffee and playing solitaire. She also liked to sit on her front porch and watch the traffic go by. She was preceded in death by her, Brother's, Felipe Hinojos Sr., Frank Hinojos Jr., Enrique Hinojos, and Sister's, Rose Menchaca, Hope Garcia, Daughter, Nellie Tarin, a Son, Joe Tarin, and Grandson Fernando Joe Rangel. Nellie leaves behind her cherished memories with her spouse, Cayetano Tarin Sr; her siblings, Charlie Hinojos, wife Elia; Pete Hinojos; Emma Hernandez. Her children Alma Jean Rangel, husband Fernando Sr.; Peggy Sue Bara, husband Pete; Sandra Stoner, husband Rodney of Terrell, Tx; Abel Tarin, Rosie Hernandez; Cayetano "Jr" Tarin, wife Rachel; Debbie Champion, husband Michael. Grandchildren, Melissa Ramirez and husband Eric; Jennifer Cedillo and husband David; Jayson Zapata and wife Gabriela; Bryan Rangel; Geno Tarin, Ashely Rangel and Justin Ruiz; Heather Tarin; Joe Ross Tarin; Chelsey McCarty; Victoria McCarty; and 18 great grandchildren who adored her dearly. The family would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo for helping us throughout the difficult times. A special thanks to Toni Garza, Yolanda Franco, Rudy and Kathy Minor, Charlie Hinojos, Josie Marquez, Brenda Villarreal, Teo and Irene Tarin, The Rangel Family, Chris Giger with Johnson's Funeral Home and Father Gilberto Rodriguez. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in San Angelo, Texas. Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Melissa Ramirez, Jennifer Cedillo, Ashley Rangel, Heather Tarin, Chelsey McCarty, Victoria McCarty.
