Norma Earlene Flint was born at home in San Angelo, Texas to William Watson Stewart and Minnie Pearl Edmiston Stewart on July 13, 1930. She had one sister, Lila Stewart Dennis, who was her lifelong best friend and one brother, William Dale Stewart, now deceased.
Earlene attended John H. Reagan Elementary School, Thomas Edison Jr. High, and later attended San Angelo High School. Her first job was at Kramer's Drug Store, followed by Wallace Studios, where she colored pictures for many years. It is during this time she met and married a blind date named Franklin Julius Flint, Sr. from Llano, Texas. Together they had Carolynn Sue (Susie) in 1951 and four years later Franklin Julius, Jr. (Butch). She left Wallace Studios to become an operator for GTE, where again, she worked for many years. For several years she was self-employed coloring portraits for an air force base in Arizona before returning to GTE to be a customer service representative. It was during this time her first born grandchild was born in 1977; Dustin Ray Lowery, who passed away on February 27, 1998. She retired from GTE in 1998 from GTE to babysit her first born grand daughter, Jennifer Jaclyne Flint Tilson, born in 1997 and then her second grand daughter, Jessica Julene Flint, born in 2000.
Earlene was a long time member of the Chadbourne Street Church of Christ where she taught Ladies Bible class for many years. She loved and was loved by many friends and family throughout her life. She was so blessed to have her only great grandchild and her namesake born in 2016; Arden Earlene Tilson. We will all be forever grateful she got to meet her and love her. The last eleven to twelve years of Earlene's life she fought a courageous fight against Alzheimer Disease. Throughout her battle she never lost her quick wit or her love for the Lord. On February 25, 2018 Alzheimer's claimed its final piece of her and she joined her husband and grandson in Heaven. Daddy said he could never even look at another woman after meeting her and that she was the love of his life. The last two years of his life he missed her so much because she no longer remembered him. We know it was a joyous occasion when she joined him in Heaven, whole and knowing him again as her husband of 60 years.
Norma Earlene Stewart Flint is survived by her daughter, Susie Patronella and husband, Russell; her son, Butch Flint and wife, Tamara; Butch and Tamara's daughters, Jennifer Tilson, and husband J.D., and Jessica Flint; one very special great granddaughter, Arden Earlene Tilson; one sister, Lila Dennis and husband Chili, who was one of Earlene's very best friends; Lila and Chili's daughters, Lana Renfroe and husband, Jack; and Darla Custer and husband, Dwain, and their kids and grandkids.
