

A Graveside Service will be held at Lake View Cemetery in Winters, Texas on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. with a Memorial Service to follow at First United Methodist Church in San Angelo, Texas at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Cheri Brewster officiating. A visitation will be on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.
O.B. met and married Burnell Jenkins on October 4, 1944. He worked for Shell Oil Company as a surveyor and permit person for 38 years. He retired to San Angelo in 1979. He was a charter member of the Quail Valley Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief for a number of years. O.B. and Burnell donated the land where the fire station is located. They worked many hours on fund raisers to pay for the building and to buy the equipment. He was a loving father, grand-father and friend and will missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Burnell (Jenkins) Nichols, his parents, an infant twin brother J.B., brothers, Boyce and Morris Nichols, a sister, Glenna Rose Nichols Henley ,his infant daughter, Debra Ann Nichols and a son, Ronald Nichols.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Henley and husband Steve of Kerrville, TX, a son, Dan Nichols and his wife Vicki of San Angelo, TX, daughter-in-law, Lanell Nichols of San Angelo, TX, a sister, Eva Mae Potter of Abilene, TX, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
