Odessa B. Ray

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM Saturday, August 27th at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Johnny King officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Odessa was born June 30, 1924 in Ranger, Texas to Luther Lloyd and Allie Mae (Jones) Brothers. In addition to being a homemaker she retired from Levi Strauss and was a member of 9th & Main Street Church of Christ.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her lifelong goal was to be recognized as a good Christian lady.

Odessa was married to Nath A. Ray on August 18, 1942 in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Merry Ellen Britt on October 14, 1994 and two brothers.

Odessa is survived by two sons Louis Lloyd Ray of San Angelo and James R. Ray and wife Suzy of Midland; 2 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren; her adopted daughter Linda Ray of Kingwood; one sister-in-law Kate Brothers of San Angelo; one brother-in-law Lowell Ray and numerous nieces and nephews.
