Oscar F. Nuncio Sr.

Oscar F Nuncio, Sr of San Angelo passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 5, 1941 in San Angelo to Enrique and Elvira Nuncio. Oscar attended Central High School. He went on to start his career as a male attendant at Shannon Hospital, then worked for Ethicon 26 years until he retired. Not able to stay in retirement, Oscar went on to work for CCA as a guard for 15 years. Oscar married Sophia Gomez on November 12, 1958 and had five children.

Oscar had a passion for working hard and providing for his family. Oscar will always be remembered as a God loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11 am. There will be a gathering immediately after at the church hall. There will not be a public visitation or graveside service.

Oscar is proceeded in death by his parents Enrique and Elvira Nuncio, brothers Henry F, Nuncio Jr, Ricardo F. Nuncio, Pedro F. Nuncio, and Raul F. Nuncio as well as great grandson Jesse Guiterrez.

Oscar is survived by his spouse Sophia Nuncio, children Oscar Nuncio, Jr, Michael Nuncio Sr, Theresa Nuncio Beristain, Veronica Nuncio Black and Thomas Nuncio. Sisters: Rita Barnes and Maria Austin. Grandchildren: Brandi Maldonado, Michael Nuncio Jr., Ramona Nuncio, Jennifer Curtis, April Esparza, Amanda Gonzales, Sophia Beristain, Jeremy Hogeda, James Hogeda, Kourtney Fuqua, Thomas Nuncio Jr., Brandon Nuncio, Joshua Nuncio, Romen Pape, and Phoenix Pape, 40 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Shannon Hospital for the care he received during his illness. Thank you also to Hospice of San Angelo for the kindness and empathy provided during this difficult time.
