Patricia Ann Tidwell joined her Lord and Savior on Dec. 22, 2014. “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go” (John 11).
Patricia was born on Feb. 17, 1939 to Emmett Lee Ragland and Georgia Dorothy (Causey) Ragland in Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Carrol Tidwell and her step-daughter Debra Zan Tidwell.
She is survived by her son Greg N. Jackson and wife Laura of San Angelo; sisters Marilyn Kay Pitt of Midlothian and Dorothy Mae Cervenka of Ragley, Louisiana; brothers Emmett Lee Ragland, Jr. and wife Neta of Austin and Richard Ray Ragland and wife Kena of Spicewood; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and many special relatives and lifelong friends.
Patricia spent her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in San Antonio, Dallas and Ft. Worth, retiring in 1991 with 31 years of service. She started as a draftswoman and quickly worked her way into management in the accounting department. She reached the level of second line manager and played key roles in bringing E-911 service to Dallas/Ft. Worth and transitioning her department through the break-up of AT&T. She also helped her husband Charlie build his business, CC Tidwell Stone, in Granbury.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She taught us what it means to be family. We will miss her loving smile and her kind and generous heart.
