Paul Wayne Hardcastle

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 10:00 A.M at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Bob Beavers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.

He was born on July 8, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Ruth (Robinson) and Paul J. Hardcastle. He married Patricia Spinner on November 1, 1980. They would have celebrated their 30th anniversary this year.

Paul grew up in the south and central areas of Texas. He graduated from San Marcos High School and then later joined the Air Force in 1966. Paul attended numerous technical schools and finally followed his love for aircraft by joining the Navy in 1973. He retired from the Navy in 1988 as Chief Petty Officer. Paul received several commendations while faithfully serving his county. There was very little he couldn’t do with his hands. His love for fishing led to a hobby, then a business crafting handmade rods and repairing reels.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughter, Teri Stapp and husband, Chase of San Marcos, Texas; Sharleen Lehotsky and husband, John of Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Barbara Riley and husband, Morgan of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle and Cole Stapp of San Marcos, Texas; aunt, Jewel Hibdon of Jourdanton, Texas. He is also survived by 10 sisters-in-law, 9 brothers-in-law whom are scattered all over the central U.S. and California and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by them all.
