

Pauline A. Steinarson Bunt was born April 20, 1931, to Sigurd A. Steinarson and Doris Varnum Steinarson in Bucksport, Maine. She met Albert Bunt when they were both in high school. She was very active in sports and academics, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a cheerleader. She married Albert R. Bunt, Jr., on September 9, 1950. After high school she worked in the office of the St. Regis Paper Company in Bucksport until February 1953 when she joined her husband in Bedford, England. She sailed to England on the Queen Mary to be with him. Pauline and two new friends sat on a curb all night waiting to see the coronation parade of Queen Elizabeth. Albert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in October 1951 and they spent 22 years traveling the world and various bases in the U.S. While in Anchorage, Alaska she worked for the Bureau of Land Management in the homestead division. In 1969 she accompanied her husband to Brindisi, Italy where they lived for two and one-half years.
After retiring from the Air Force they continued traveling and camping. Pauline loved sports. She was an avid bowler and bridge player earning many awards in both. She had a sharp mind and excelled as a statistician.
She and her husband spent their retirement years in San Angelo, Texas.
Pauline is survived by her husband, brother-in-law John G. Bunt, sister-in-law Ethel Irene Star, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
