

Rachel M. Flores, 56, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in San Angelo. The Rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 10, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Msgr. Maurice Voity as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Rachel was born November 27,1954 in Brownfield, Texas to Eliseo P. Martinez, Sr. and Teresa Garza Martinez. She married Patrick Adame, Jr. and he preceded her in death. She later met Felix H. Flores, Jr. and they shared 23 wonderful years together and were married on March 10, 2011. Rachel was a very loving and giving homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of “Gold.” During the holidays her kindheartedness and her giving nature helped many young children receive gifts that they would not have had a chance to receive and it always made them feel so special. Rachel’s strength and faith always allowed her to persevere through all of the rough times in life and she was able to be an incredible example to her children and others. Rachel’s beautiful light, love and life will live on in our hearts forever! She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tim Martinez. She is survived by her loving family, Husband, Felix H. Flores, Jr, of San Angelo; her Children, Corina Castilleja and boyfriend Oscar Obregon, of San Angelo, Imelda and Solo L. Adame, of San Angelo, Angel Biffel and Husband Larry, of San Angelo, and Danny Flores and wife Alicia of San Angelo; 7 Grandchildren, Milton Castilleja III, Maria and Brittany Obregon, Ethan and Emily Biffel, and Michael and Jeremiah Flores, all of San Angelo; 4 Great Grandchildren, Xavier and Nevaeh Castilleja and Anahi and Rosa Bella Hernandez, all of San Angelo; her Brothers, Eliseo P. Martinez, Jr., Roy Martinez and wife Rosalinda and David Martinez, all of San Angelo; her Sisters, Mary Jiminez and her husband Eddie, Rosa Munoz and her husband Valentine, Sr., and Margie Sanchez and her husband Chris, all of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and close friends. Pallbearers for the service will be Larry Biffel, Danny Flores, Solo L. Adame, Joe Santos, Mag Zuniga and Jose Sanchez. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Baptist Memorials Hospice who allowed our beloved mother to be comfortable her last days here with us. They were very caring, considerate, patient as well as supportive. Thanks to you all, Laura, Carol Martin, Madelyn “Mad” Bowers, Maria Castillo and Rosa and Maria Rodriguez. We would also like to thank the staff at Shannon Medical Center especially Dr. Melissa Powell, Rachel Conover and the R.N. Mark.
