

Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Ralph was born January 19, 1923 in Brownfield, Texas and adopted in Abilene, Texas by Soland and Mabel Ellison. He was a veteran of World War II; he was a Navy CB 82nd Battalion until December of 1945. He married Edna Rheadeen Porter on August 4, 1946. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2004.
He was a very active member of Southgate Church of Christ until his move to Andrews in September 2011. He was a carpenter and craftsman with wood for many years after the war. In 1967, he went to work as a drill needle maker for Ethicon. He retired in 1988. He was active with the Ethicon Retirees for many years until he lost his sight due to macular degeneration.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Rheadeen; daughter, Carolyn Freeman; and granddaughter, Shannon Peel.
He is survived by his daughter Darlene Peel and her husband Randy; grandson Scott Peel and wife Cindy, and their children Drew and Markie; granddaughters Cayla Freeman and Megan Freeman; grandson Tyler Freeman; and son in-law Darrell Freeman.
