

Richard, was born in February on the twelfth day of 1928 to Eddie and Emma Hooker in Paint Rock, Texas the ninth sibling in the family. Richard has been preceded in death by all eight siblings. Roy, Lola, Earnest, Louise, Mata Jane, Bill, Edwin, and Mac. He attended Eola and Clattenhoff, schools and graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. In 1946, after high school Richard went to work doing what loved to do best , that was working on cars as a mechanic for his first boss Tommy Thompson. He then, worked for different men beginning with Raymond York, Doc Williamson and for a short time at Big Lake Motor Company. In March of 1959 he opened his own garage as Auto Service in partnership with Lawrence Youngman. and then moved out on his own in 1960 as Hooker Automotive. For 30 years he loved what he did for all his customers. Richard loved to garden, fish, bowl, even sponsoring a league for a while, but most of all he loved hunting and brought that loved to his son. In June of 1950, he married the love of his life, Pauline Spradling. Polly as she was known preceded him death in 1996. Richard and Polly were blessed with two children Carolynn and Randy. After Polly's death, Richard remarried Beth ( Hendrix) Alexander in 1999. Beth passed in 2001. He married his current wife Nadine (Knadler) Hooker in 2004. Survivors include: Two Children. Carolynn Maynard and husband Don, Randy Hooker and wife Norma, Grand Children: Dana Calhoun and husband Jason, Tana Massey and husband Jack, Stephanie Gesch and husband Brian, Sheena Dykstra and husband Alan, Great Grand Children: Addison Simmons, Payton Manchaca, Sage Massey, Dylan and Davis Calhoun, Kaelynn, Lane , Elijah, and Kinsley Gesch, Makenna, Ryder and Jake Dykstra, He also leaves to cherish his memories lots of friends, neighbors, and the gang at the Bowling Alley . Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Family room at Johnson's Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 . Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Johnson's Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
