Richard Keith Speer, 56, formerly of Temple, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his home in San Angelo, Texas.
A graveside memorial service will be held, Saturday, April 20, 2013 2:00 PM at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Richard was born in El Paso, Texas October 31, 1956 to William Hugh and Rossana Maria Speer. Richard attended schools in Odessa, San Angelo and Temple, Texas before volunteering for service in the United States Army.
Richard spent the majority of his working career driving long haul trucks. A constant search for adventure took him overseas driving commercial vehicles for a division of Kellogg Brown and Root. Richard spent time in both Afghanistan and Iraq as a contractor in support of our troops.
Richard was preceded in death by his father William H “Bill” Speer; his sister, Rose Marie Redding of Clarksville, Arkansas; and his niece, Margo Redding of Clarksville, Arkansas.
Survivors include one son William Keith Speer of Livingston, Texas; mother, Rossana Hopper of Dallas, Texas; brother, Dale Speer of San Angelo, Texas; brother, Frank Speer and wife, Elizabeth of Arlington, Texas; nieces and nephews, Francine, Noelle, Stephen, Brandon, Dee, Dale Jr., Brian Redding, wife Jamie and their children Michael and Andrea.
