

Robert W. Hastings, 94, passed away on March 26, 2011 in a local nursing home. He was born on November 20, 1916 in New Market, Alabama to Luella and Robert W. Hastings, Sr.
Robert was a proud and patriotic veteran who served in the Occupation Army in Germany during WWII. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years. During his life he worked as a paint contractor and restored furniture and antiques. He was a member of the San Angelo Bowling Council Super Senior Team.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Beatrice Hastings, second wife Lurline Hastings, sister Amelia Roy, brothers Bud Hastings and Bill Hastings.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Pate Moutos, step-daughters Lana Vaughn Vandiver (Bobby) and Debra Martin (Mark) all of San Angelo; sisters Beulah Glasgow and Ruby Gerst and brother Lewis Hastings all of Alabama; sister-in-law Frances Hastings of Florida; grandsons Robert Pate (Mary) of San Angelo, Steve Pate of Houston and Greg Pate (Tamara) of Kerrville; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 29th at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Mitchell, Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
