Tia Ofelia and Family,

We are deeply saddened to hear the loss of your son, brother, father and our dear cousin.

Roberto was the rock for your family and he was also the rock for the Villarreal family.  Especially when planning the family reunions.  He always did his best to bring us all together.

He was so gracious to me, my husband and children every time we would go to San Angelo and visit our Tia and the family.  When he visited our dad, Vicente (his uncle) at the ranch in Midland, he never came empty handed. That's just who he was.

Roberto called us regularly to catch up and ask how everyone was doing in Midland.  He was our lifeline of communication in San Angelo for weddings, birthday parties, dinner gatherings and funerals. He never left us out!  He always ended his telephone call with a "I love you" and I knew that he genuinely meant it.  We loved him back. 

We will truly miss him! Life will not be the same without him.  He taught us how we should treat one another; with kindness and respect. I will never forget that about him.  Now it is on each one of us to pick up his torch and continue.

May you all find comfort and peace with your treasured memories of him.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Robert was kind , funny, and a great friend.  May God comfort you and hold you close to His heart as you pass through this difficult time.  I know that Robert had a great homecoming when he got to heaven!!

When I was little and nothing or no one could make me happy -you would pick me up for a soul soothing cruise.

I now know that my love for fast cars and good music came straight from your 8 track collection as not only did we listen to one song but we listened to each song in its entirety as we drove around town escaping the world if even for a little bit. You got me.
When it was time for you to take me home you would always tell me that you would be back for me.  

As time passed  you were always back—
You were back to fix my car, you were back to build me a porch, you were back to dry my tears and laugh right through them.
You were back to see your grandson graduate and overjoyed to learn that you were about to be a great grandpa. Most of all you were always just back to be my dad.
I prayed and begged for God to give you a kidney so that I could continue to know you and love you just a little bit longer.
I didnt think me and Tia Lety could race you there fast enough and you did it- you came back again.
God did give us more time, he did bring you back and we all celebrated together as a family as it should be at your grandaughters wedding. 
Our lunches, our phone calls and especially the secret laughs that we shared... I will miss it all so very much.

I dont know how to let you go but I do know that you will be back - you will be there when I see the reflection of your eyes in my brothers smile. 
You will be back when I hold your first great grandchild. 
You will be back because I will always tell stories about the dad who chose to love me. 
Go in peace now dad, your work on Earth is done. Well done❤️
