On Monday, July 11, 2011 Ronnie Burleson Dooley, Sr. passed from this life. Ron was born in San Angelo, Texas on July 30, 1942 to Ruben Dooley and Neila Kathleen Garrett Dooley. He proudly served our country for 20 years as a member of the United States Navy. His military career took him all over the world and earned him numerous awards and distinctions. Ron lived on both the East and West Coasts of the United States and internationally in Japan, as well as serving aboard various ships. He achieved the rank of Senior Chief during his career and always held fond memories of his time in the Navy.
After retirement, Ron was employed by the San Angelo law firm of Webb, Stokes and Sparks, retiring in 2010 after more than 30 years of faithful service. He was a licensed investigator and ran his own investigation service for many years. Upon his second retirement, Ron and his wife Estella moved to Corpus Christi, returning to his love of the ocean where he spent as much time fishing as he could.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Estella of San Angelo and her three sons, Mark, Joseph and Alex. Ron is also survived by his three children Christine Dooley-Maass, her husband Andreas and her children Cecelia and Christopher; Ron Dooley, Jr., his wife Diana and daughter Jessica; and Sean Dooley all of San Angelo; and by his sister Linda Dooley Trahan, her husband Webb and daughters Dana and Chari of Beaumont.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6 to 8pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 W Beauregard, San Angelo, Texas. Graveside services will be Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11am at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, Texas.
