Rosa Martinez Castaneda

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 5th at Nazareth Presbyterian Church, 313 W. Ave. N, with Rev. Beatrice Castaneda officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Rosa was born April 15, 1921 in Del Rio, TX. to Francisco and Ninfa (Luna) Martinez. She had been a resident of San Angelo since 1937 and was a homemaker.

Rosa was married to Lorenzo R. Castaneda on June 6, 1939 in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers.

Survivors include her daughters Rev. Beatrice Castaneda, Esther Reyes and husband David, Gloria Sanchez all of San Angelo, and Alvesa Holguin and husband Abel of Midland; son Lorenzo Castaneda and wife Rosantina of San Antonio; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters Carolina Cantu, Nora Velez and Lillie Valdez all of San Angelo; brothers Sam Martinez, Noe Martinez and Joe Martinez of San Angelo and several nieces and nephews.
