Seferina Herrera

Seferina Herrera, 86, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born on August 25, 1936 in Mason, TX to Isidro and Sista Hernandez. Seferina married Hilario Herrera on November 26, 1951 and had 9 children. They were married until his passing in 1976. She later met her companion Filemon Sanchez. Seferina had a passion for traveling, dancing, cooking and making monthly trips to the casino. She was preceded in death by her husband Hilario Flores Herrera, Sr.; her companion Filemon Sanchez; her parents Isidro and Sista Hernandez; her son Philip Herrera Sr.; her daughter Irene Herrera Luna (Melecio); her grandson Daniel Herrera; her sister Sophia Lavaris and her brother Daniel Hernandez. Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings Jila Gonzales, Elida Rodriguez, Dominga De Los Santos and Isabel Rivera (Herman); her daughter-in-law Eleanor Herrera; her children Hilario Herrera (Maria), Danny Herrera (Katrina), George Herrera, Sr. (Lois), Norma Martinez (Marcial), Joel Herrera (Cindy), Albert Herrera (Amanda) and Esmeralda Mascorro (Abelardo); she is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A celebration of Seferina’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 in the chapel of Johnson’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Herrera, Hilario Herrera Jr., III, Dust Herrera, George Herrera, Jr., Thomas Hernandez, Brandon Herrera, Charlie Mascorro and Jason Luna. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mariah Herrera. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society.
