Shane Christopher Baumann, 36, of San Angelo, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016. He was born to Donald Joseph and Marlys Ann (Berglund) Baumann on Tuesday, December 4, 1979 in Mandan, North Dakota. Shane joined the long list of family members to serve in the military and enlisted in the United States Army as a Military Intelligence Korean Linquist. Upon completion of Advanced Individual Training, Shane was stationed in Korea and Fort Campbell and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completing his enlistment, Shane served as a Military Intelligence Signals Intelligence Analyst Instructor at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. After ten years as an instructor, Shane touched over 3000 students who have expressed their gratitude for his dedication and high standards. He was currently working on his third bachelors degree, having already earned one masters and two bachelors degrees. To say that Shane was intelligent and motivated does not serve him justice. He married Jinhee Park on February 24, 2007 in Korea. Shane was family oriented in every sense of the phrase, and his wife and sons were his world. Nothing mattered more to him than his family. Shane was not just a protector for his family but was the protective shield for those he loved. He was an active father and enjoyed being a "big kid" himself, often playing hide-and-seek with his sons and kids of family and friends. He was a sports-fan, especially of the Houston Texans, and enjoyed playing racquetball and traveling. Shane loved to laugh and tried to always bring laughter to any situation. He has been described as thoughtful, respectful, loving, ethical and inspirational. Shane was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He touched and forever changed countless people during his lifetime and will be missed greatly. He is preceded in death by his father.
