Steve Lynn Harris Sr.

Steven Lynn Harris was born on October 17, 1954 to James and Emily Harris in San Diego, California. He was raised along the California and Washington coast. Finally Steve heard Texas calling and made his home here in 1982. Once here, fortune smiled on him and he met his future wife. Little did he know that it would take another 9 years for her to finally agree to marry him. Steve married the love of his life, Kelly Schmickle Harris on December 29, 1991. The two greatest days in his life were when his children, Katy Lee Ann and Steven Lynn II, were born. Steve relished in their triumphs and tribulations. He was the son of a Baptist minister and loved teaching his children about the Lord as his father taught him. Steve was never shy about professing his faith and love for the Lord.

Steve is survived by his wife Kelly, loving children Katy and Steven. He is also survived by his sister, Marianne Williams of Copper Center, Alaska his brother, Jim Harris of Harlingen, Texas.

Waiting in Heaven with open arms are his parents James and Emily Harris, sister, Connie and brother, Micheal. Kelly takes comfort in knowing that her dad, Michael Schmickle, who always considered Steve a son even before they were married, is also there to greet him. We know that he now has all of his questions answered and has finally been able to meet the baby girl that was lost to him so long ago.

The Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2010 at Grape Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Winchester officiating.
