

Sue L. Rosford, affectionately known as “Aunt Suzy” passed away at the age of 78, on December 29, 2013 after a short battle with leukemia. She was born on February 15, 1935, in San Angelo to Horace W. Linthicum and Katharine Berry Linthicum Davis, both of whom preceded her in death as well as her beloved husband, John K. “Daddy Ken” Rosford in 1988, and a nephew, Cody Gene Paxton in 1972.
A reception and family visitation will be at Johnson’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 4pm to 6pm. Graveside service will be by Tim Ross of Post, Texas at Mertzon Cemetery Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10am.
Survivors include her sister Prissy Paxton and husband Ronnie; nephews: Whit Paxton and wife Sherry and their children: Katelyn, Shayla Bolding and her son, Bryce; Kelly DePiesse and wife Sarah and their children: Katee, Izabelle and Maddie; Justin Paxton and wife, Tia, and their children Dakota and Sawyer; Bill Rosford and wife, Eve, their children Amy and Sarah and their families; Jerry Hamilton and Terry Hamilton; nieces: Traci P. Ross and husband, Tim, and their children Faith and Zach; Kathy Shank and husband, Randy, and their children Rachel and Blain and their families; and Deborah Rosford. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends and special friends Tommy Corbell, Mary Jo Thomsom and Lockie Sue Bissett.
Suzy graduated from Eldorado High School in 1952 and attended TCU before embarking on a banking career with the First National Bank of Sonora in 1954, and ending when she retired as Secretary of the Board and Senior Vice President in 1983. She received several awards and honors from the many civic activities and organizations she was involved with while residing and working in Sonora. She was a charter member of the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd in Sonora and served as Elder and secretary/ treasurer for a number of years. She is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Eldorado, Texas.
Suzy was raised in the ranching business and after retiring from the FNB, she returned to her “roots” where she enjoyed farming, ranching, and tending to livestock, feeding the deer, turkey, and quail.
Suzy rode cutting horses, flew airplanes, enjoyed fishing, golfing, travel, and dancing, but most of all, her sister’s children which she loved as if they were her own. She was an avid fan of their activities and was always there to support them in any endeavor they chose and continued to do so with their children. She will always be remembered as a very loving, caring and generous “Aunt Suzy”.
