Theola Fay Munson, 94 of San Angelo, Texas passed from this earthly world on December 10, 2018 to be reunited with the love of her life, Howard Lee "Barney" Munson who preceded her into their heavenly world on December 5, 2013 after being apart for five years and five days.
Theola was born on August 15, 1924 in Yale, Oklahoma to Donna Fay and Otto Carl Reuter.
She was a loving and devoted care taker of her family through various moves with her and Barney's many years with Sun Oil Company. Their story began in New Orleans, La after their marriage on January 15, 1946. Their life together then took them to Sun Oil Camp in Delmita, TX, McAllen, Premont, Midland and finally to San Angelo, TX.
Theola loved to tour by motor home all over the United States with Barney. She was happiest when she was camping in the mountains or fishing in the rivers and streams of Colorado.
She was a life long Baptist most recently a member of Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo and was a proud member of the Friendship Sunday School class.
Theola is survived by her daughter Susan Jones, and her husband Richard, son Kyle Munson and his wife Kym. Grandchildren: Christopher Riley and his wife Jessica, Megan McCarthy and her husband Michael, Samantha Munson, Brendan Munson, Colby Jones and Andrew Jones. Three great grandchildren, Ashton Riley, Lena and Ella McCarthy. Sister in law Bonnie Pence, nieces Sherry Furr, Gay Parker, nephews, Gary Martz and Jim Pence. Theola will also be remembered by the many life long friends she made over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kathleen Martz, brother, Carl Reuter, mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Walter B. Nading.
Theola spent the last 3 1/2 years of her life with the wonderful and compassionate care as a resident at Baptist Retirement Community.
Services are planned for a viewing and visitation at Johnson's Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13th from 6 to 8 pm.
Graveside services will be held at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 14th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Water for All" program through Southland Baptist Church or Meals for the Elderly of San Angelo.
Honorary pall bearers will be her grandsons.
