Velma Ann Johnson, 77, of San Angelo went to meet Jesus on April 25, 2022. She was born on January 13, 1945 in Coleman, TX to Lester and Nell McMillan. Velma married Jerry Johnson on October 1, 1967 and had two children, Lisa and Jerry, Jr. (JJ). Velma had a passion for baseball and loved the Atlanta Braves. She will always be remembered for her unfailing love for her family. A memorial service will be held on April 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo for the care provided to Velma over the past two years. Honorary Pallbearers will be JJ Johnson, Timothy House, Brandon Johnson, Michael Johnson and Matthew Johnson. Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Nell McMillan. She is survived by her loving husband Jerry Johnson, by her children Lisa Johnson and Jerry (JJ) Johnson, Jr and wife Donna, her grandchildren Meghann, Kelsey, Timothy, Brandon, Michael and Matthew. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, her sister Linda Heinze and brother Larry McMillan along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
