Virginia Maureen Parsons

Virginia Parsons, age 89, passed into eternal rest on September 16, 2011. Virginia was born on January 17, 1922, in Floydada, Texas, to Noble G. Jackson and Claudia Hanna Jackson and married Jack Kenneth Parsons on August 14, 1944, in Roswell, New Mexico. Jack was employed by Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Virginia taught school. She retired from Wall Independent School District after many years of teaching. Virginia established many lifelong friendships during her years in Wall ISD and was proud of and beloved by her students.

The family will receive visitors at Johnson’s Funeral Home at 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Virginia is preceded in death by parents Nobel G. Jackson and Claudia Hanna Jackson, brother Tom Jackson, and husband Jack Kenneth Parsons. She is survived by son Michael R. Parsons and wife Mary Ann of Waco, Texas, son Dan C. Parsons and wife Becky of Houston, Texas, grandson Matthew Kenneth Parsons and wife Adrienne of Louisville, Kentucky, and granddaughter Jennifer Lee Parsons of Houston, Texas.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Virginia’s caregivers including Celia Colmenero, Hilda Ruiz, Esther Reyes, Mary Ann Archipolo, Sylvia Navarro, and Edna Troncoso. Special thanks is also extended to Hospice Care providers.
