William Moore Capps of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the age of 89. He was born on Oct. 23, 1923, in Waco, Texas, the son of George and Marguerite Ellen (Moore) Capps. Bill played in the high school band in San Angelo, Texas, and soon after joined the Army Air Force, flying the European Theatre, dropping medicines and food to our troops below. He later earned a degree in petroleum engineering at the University of California at Berkley. After retirement, he was a consultant in the oil industry for many years. He lived in San Marcos, Texas, since the 1990's and later moved to Stonebrook Senior Community in San Marcos in December 2001, where he met his wife, Gloria, in March 2002. They married later that year on Nov. 29, 2002. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in San Marcos. He loved the game of golf and played for many years at Landa Park and Quail Creek Country Club. In his later years he spent many hours on the phone and computer, speaking with colleagues. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria; nephew Michael; and nieces Sherrie and Marsha. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at First Presbyterian Church in San Marcos.
