Bill was born on February 27, 1938 in Louisiana. He travelled the highways of the U.S. as a young man until he settled in San Angelo in 1974. He worked for several well known San Angelo businesses including The El Patio Hotel and Holsum Bakery before founding his own company, J.E.T. Distributing, in 1987. As an entrepreneur, he travelled the highways of west Texas making sales calls with a commitment to satisfying his customers at any cost and an undeniable wit and charm for which he became known.
He was a compassionate man, who had a soft spot in his heart for downtrodden people. He would gladly go out of his way to help a stranger without being asked, and do anything in his power to lift up someone who was down and out. His spirit was a testament that good and generous souls still exist in this world.
He was an avid golfer. He could often be found at Riverside Golf Club playing in the noon game with his close friends. It was one of the only places in the world where he was truly relaxed and happy.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Raymond James Talley, his mother Willie Mae Donnell, his brother Raymond James Talley Jr., and his sister Wilma Lee Talley. He is survived by his step-mother Chetta Marie Talley and his three children William Clark Talley, Terri Lynn Hewett, and John Edward Talley. He will be dearly missed by countless friends and others that he blessed with his heartfelt friendship and limitless generosity.
Thank you to the friends and neighbors who helped look after him in recent months.
A private service will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memorials may be made in his name to any organization that helps people better their lives.
I love you daddy.
