

Willie Hibbs McBee passed away on February 9, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. She was born on February 29, 1932 to Rilla and Floyd Boyles in McCulloch County. She had an adored older brother, Johnie Boyles, and dearly loved younger sister, Winkie Hendrix, who often affectionately referred to as “Sis” among close family.
She graduated from Rochelle High School in 1949 and began her career in the health care industry.She met James Hibbs and they were married in 1952. They were married 32 years and had 3 children. In 1971 she completed LVN training at TSTI –Sweetwater. She touched many lives while working in the Physicians Clinic in Robert Lee and the hospital in Bronte as an LVN. She was highly respected in the healthcare industry as a compassionate and highly qualified LVN. In 1986, she moved to San Angelo and began working for Shannon at the North Shamrock Clinic with dear friends Louise Bowers and Tom Bender, among many others. She retired in 2000; yet she continued working on a part time basis and often volunteered to work during holidays so that colleagues could spend extra time with their families.
She was an active member of First Christian Church in San Angelo and enjoyed volunteering in the church office and with the food bank. She was also a dedicated volunteer with Meals for the Elderly.
In 2008, she met her best friend and love of her life, Daymon McBee, of Brady. They were married in 2009. They were very active in their church, assisting with church meals and volunteering every summer at the Heart of Texas Bible Camp.
Willie loved her family, who were her pride and joy. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and attending family reunions. She was an artisan in the craft of crochet and spent many hours making beautiful gifts for others. She loved playing games of any kind, her favorites being hand and foot canasta and working puzzles. She lived life to its fullest until her death and will be missed by many who benefited from her endearing smiles, warm hugs and unique sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by parents Rilla and Floyd Boyles; brother, Johnie Boyles; brother-in-law P.D. Hendrix; and James Hibbs.
She is survived by husband, Daymon McBee of Brady, children Debra Hibbs Warrington of San Angelo, Helen Hibbs of San Angelo, Johnny & Susan Hibbs of Grapevine, Kyle and Kelly McBee of Rockwall, Andy and Jana McBee of Fredonia, Sheila Allcorn, of Abilene and Shelayne McBee of Valera. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Family Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in Brady, Texas. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.
