Abel, age 68, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on November 23, 1952, in San Antonio, TX to Jose G. and Eloisa H. Coronado Corpus. Abel graduated from Holy Cross High School in San Antonio, Class of 1971. Abel proudly served his country as a fireman and civil engineer in the United States Air Force. He was an active 3rd Degree and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as a member of American Legion Post #2 and a disabled Veteran. He was a member at Holy Family Catholic Church. He worked for Loomis Armored Car Services, Security at Rosa Verde Towers and Villa Rosa. He retired from Dunbar Armored Car Services as a Crew Chief. He married the love of his life Maria Del Rosario, May 5, 2001. They were able to travel many years throughout Mexico, particularly San Miguel de Allende, Zacatecas, Mexico City, Dolores Hidalgo, Acapulco, Tonala, San Juan de Los Lagos, Taxco and many other towns throughout Mexico. The couple also traveled by cruise liners to Cartagena (Colombia), Curacao, Aruba, Costa Rica, Roatan, Bahamas, Belize. Traveled to Barcelona, Cartagena (Spain), the Canary Islands. But the highlight of all trips was a trip to China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, saw many sites including the Great Wall, Terracotta Army and Tiananmen Square. His favorite pass time was fishing, or telling his favorite jokes. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to the neighbors, loved gardening or woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Phillip Joe Corpus and brother Ruben Corpus. Abel is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Del Rosario Corpus; children: Christine Corpus, Jessica Lynn Corpus, Michael Lowe (Veronica) and Monica Arce; grandchildren: Jace (Makayla), Julian Augustine, Alexander Diego, Monica, Joseph, Hallie, Christhopher, Cyleia Adelita, Ezekiel, and Arceli; great grandchildren: Amelia, and Zora Angel: siblings: Jose (Sylvia), Dalia (Armando Guerra), Hector (Lillia Veronica (Betty), Darlene (Jess Gamez), Mary Alice, Ricardo and Sister-in-law Marie Flores Corpus); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
